About
Founded in 1986, Chamber Music International is a nonprofit arts organization that offers exceptional classical chamber music through performances and musical education programs in Richardson and the Dallas Metroplex.
The mission of Chamber Music International is to present Chamber Music concerts on the highest artistic level to a broad spectrum of audiences across North Texas, enhance the Richardson and Dallas area's reputation for musical excellence, and provide opportunities for youth to perform and learn about Chamber Music.
CMI's unique approach of bringing together world-famous soloists to perform chamber music presents both logistic and artistic innovation. Each artist is a deserving soloist who has his/her own stage around the globe, yet at CMI concerts they come together to perform music that allows them to stand out and complement each other. This chemistry works in balance to create exceptional performances.
CMI includes artists from all demographic backgrounds to maintain diversification. We have programmed jazz concerts, women composer concerts, and an “East Meets West” themed performance with vocals, ethnic instruments, and a silent movie.
Our artists’ resumes feature early-career prizes from pre-eminent competitions, such as the Cliburn, Tchaikovsky, Naumburg, Leeds, Queen Elizabeth, and Rubinstein. These artists have gone on to distinguished careers on the concert stage as recording artists and pedagogues.
An integral part of the mission of Chamber Music International is to enrich the cultural landscape of the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. Essential to this mission is our commitment to diversity and inclusion in governance, in the workplace, and in all community activities. CMI extends this commitment to artists, employees, qualified job applicants, and business associates, regardless of age, race, ethnicity, gender, or sexual orientation.
